ANGELO MASTROBUONO BURSARY
CRITERIA: Consideration will be based upon financial need.
HISTORY: In memory of Angelo Mastrobuono, a City of Nelson employee, killed accidentally on the job. Angelo will be remembered for his great work ethic and his dedication to learning.
BARRY CRISPIN MEMORIAL (SPONSORED BY H&R BLOCK) BURSARY
CRITERIA: Students pursuing their education in the field of business.
HISTORY: In memory of Barry Crispin, a former student of L.V. Rogers.
BRIAN McGRATH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP/BURSARY
CRITERIA: Consideration will be given based on financial need.
HISTORY: In memory of Brian McGrath, a former teacher at L.V. Rogers.
CANADIAN FEDERATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: Top female student. A need for financial assistance may be considered.
CAITLYND PIDERMAN BURSARY
CRITERIA: For a student who is trying to overcome health challenges, or student must be an athlete that shows superior determination, effort and commitment to sport.
HISTORY: Caitlynd was a 2006 L.V. Rogers graduate who loved basketball.
COLUMBIA POWER CORPORATION BURSARY
CRITERIA: Student must be enrolled in a post-secondary institution within one year of high school graduation. Demonstrates excellence in achievement during Grade 12, not necessarily highest GPA, but has worked hard and shows a real desire to excel.
EXCELLENCE IN MEDIA AWARD - GRADS BC PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO
CRITERIA: A student pursuing post secondary education in the arts - photography, video or graphics/design.
GYRO CLUB OF NELSON SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: Strong academics. Preference will be given to a student with a Gyro family member.
HARRIS AND COMPANY SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: For a student who excels in either Law 11 or Law 12, who intends on attending a post-secondary institution.
HORIE FAMILY BURSARY
CRITERIA: Student is proceeding with post-secondary education in media/visual arts and has a demonstrated financial need.
HUESTIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: Student has a strong interest in sports, music or art and they reflect determination and humility. Financial need is also significant.
HISTORY: Established in 1986 in memory of Bob Huestis Jr. He is remembered as a unique individual with a wide range of interests including sports, art and music.

CRITERIA: Student in fine arts program.

CRITERIA: Student intends to pursue post-secondary education in the field of health care.

CRITERIA: A minimum grade point average of 3.2 over your best seven courses.

CRITERIA: Must be a member or have an immediate family member of Kootenay Savings Credit Union. When applying, please note this on application with your member number. Must be enrolled full time in a post secondary institution - technology, university, college or vocational.

CRITERIA: Preference will be given to a son or daughter of a Nelson Lions Club member. Consideration will also be given to a good school record in a variety of subjects(C+ average), as well as evidence of leadership, community service and/or involvement in the arts.
LOUIS & MARGUERITE SANTOR BURSARY
CRITERIA: High academic achievement. Furthering education in the field of medicine, including veterinary medicine. Preference may be given to a student with evidence of financial need.
NELSON CIVIC THEATRE SOCIETY AWARD
CRITERIA: Students who are entering post secondary (trades, college or university) who hold/held employment/volunteer hours with the Civic Theatre and/or are entering into a digital film school.
NELSON ITALIAN CANADIAN SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: Preference to member of the Nelson Italian Canadian Society Club.
Two awards: One for a student attending post secondary, and one for student enrolled in a trades program.
NELSON LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: One male and one female. Preference will be given to a son or daughter of a Nelson Lions Club member. Consideration will also be given to a good school record in a variety of subjects(C+ average) as well as evidence of leadership, community service and/or involvement in the arts.

CRITERIA: Student pursuing business administration or related field.
NELSON AND DISTRICT TEACHERS ASSOCIATION
CRITERIA: Student who is interested in education or human resources at university, college or trade school.
NELSON HIGH SCHOOL REUNION 1937-1952 SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: Pursing further education.
HISTORY: Established in 1991 by the reunion committee.
NELSON MASONIC LODGE SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: One male and one female based on citizenship, group/club activities, fine arts involvement, C+ average.
NELSON MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: Student has been involved in Nelson Minor Hockey, displays dedication, sportsmanship and shows respect on and off the ice.
NELSON PILOTS’ ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: Pursuing a career in the aviation industry (e.g. air crew, aeronautical engineer, aircraft maintenance).
NELSON ROAD KINGS SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: For students whose post secondary plans are related to the automotive field. This may include mechanics, body repair and sales as well as welding, electrical & millwright/machinist.
ORMOND FAMILY BURSARY
CRITERIA: High degree of excellence in Fine Arts with first consideration to a Theatre Arts student.
PHARMASAVE SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: A student that is interested in sciences and has demonstrated community service.
RANDY PEREPOLKIN BURSARY
CRITERIA: Must be going into a music program with preference given to a guitar or voice student. Preference to student in financial need. This is the last year offered.
SCHOOL DISTRICT #8 ABORIGINAL EDUCATION AWARD
CRITERIA: To a deserving student that has been actively involved in the Aboriginal Education Program.
SELKIRK PAVING BURSARY
CRITERIA: The successful candidate must plan to continue their post-secondary education including college, university, trade or vocational. They must demonstrate leadership, citizenship, and involvement in school or community activities along with tenacity, effort, and attitude.

HISTORY: Established in 1997 by Edward and Gladys Stromstead for L.V. Rogers students furthering their studies.
T.A.S.K. BURSARY
CRITERIA: This achievement award is for students with special needs.

CRITERIA: Student enrolling in social work, early childhood education, community support worker, residential support worker or other related human services field.
KENNY, DENNIS AND MICHAEL ZEABIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: Applicants who are furthering their education in language study.
HISTORY: Kenneth Zeabin was born in Nelson in 1971. He believed in equality and that “life must go on”. He enjoyed life to the fullest and fought bravely his battle against muscular dystrophy.

CRITERIA: Preference given to applicant with immediate family connection to Telus/BC Tel (current or retired). If no family, min. C+ avg., leadership, community service and/or involvement in the arts, enrolling in post-secondary institution.
